This is the West Side of the Superstition Mountains where the tragic crash of a twin engine light plane took six lives the day before Thanksgiving 2011.

No Cactus here, just raw mountain beauty, or it was until the Wallow Fire May 2011. 

Now this area has been burned out.

The entire owlet family makes an appearance in the Spring of 2007, two of the four made it and still show up occasionally.

 

 

Race back up to the Grand Canyon June 2007 again, this is the East most side, and the temps are about 110 degrees F
